As with all non-profits, fundraising will always be part of our life. Accordingly, we have a plan. Our fundraising plan is part of our greater Sustainability Plan which means that we will have multiple revenue streams. You can review the greater Sustainability Plan here. We will talk about just the fundraising arm, which is two fold, below.
Code for Charlotte Hack Nights and attendance will always be open to anyone who wants to attend. We will never close our doors to anyone who wants to attend, contribute or be a part of the civic tech movement. We value everyone’s contribution and believe that it truly takes a village to raise a civic tech community.
That being said, there is value in financially supporting the things that you love. Therefore, we will soon open up a way to join Code for Charlotte as a contributing member. Stay tuned to learn about the perks of membership.
Peer-to-Peer fundraising is more targeted, runs for a short time, and will center around Giving Tuesday every November. It will be a donation campaign that will run akin to NPR’s campaigns. More specifically, we are aiming to have eight champions that pledge to raise $1,000 each and 20 ambassadors that pledge to raise $500 each to help us reach our goals.
This is an important opportunity for us to sustain our programs throughout the year and for our partners to see that our community supports our efforts. We hope that you take part in our fundraising efforts by signing up to be a champion, ambassador, or by donating. You can sign up here.
