Potential Brigade Apps from Mobile Engagement Strategy Community Workshop

The full list of ideas generated from the workshop is available on the Open Data Portal.  A summary of the ideas is included in the report from Faster Glass Consulting that is posted on Basecamp.

Keri discussed a few items pertaining to application sponsorship:

  • The list is under review at the City by Nianwei Liu and David North, among others.


Winter Holiday Gift Exchange – Jim reported that he is preparing the Skilled Volunteer Engagement Agreement.

Open Budget – Jim reported that a meeting is pending with Karen Whichard.

Citygram – Road Closures introduced on Civic Tech Day!

Adopt a Thing – Jim reported that he is following up on ongoing operating model – i.e. ownership and maintenance after initial deployment, costing and billing back.


The draft By-Laws were discussed.  Subsequent to the meeting, Peter updated the draft as follows, and posted revised draft on Basecamp.

  • Article II.2 – minimum number of Board Members increased from three to five.
  • Article VII.6 – new section referring to Code for Charlotte’s Code of Conduct.

Jill agreed to pursue attorney review.

Volunteer Survey

Jill evaluating Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for not-for-profits.  Check out .  Jill will report on evaluation next month.

Upcoming Events

Hack Nights – every Tuesday, Industry Charlotte.

June 3-4 – National Day of Civic Hacking.  Jill planning for a low tech meeting on Fri, 6/3, and a traditional Hack-a-thon on 6/4, at Industry Charlotte.
