Subject Notes
Committee Membership Change Jill informed the group that Randall has relocated to New York and will no longer be able to participate.  We thank Randall for all of his efforts and wish him well in his new endeavors!
Process Improvements Rachel shared some process improvement ideas regarding onboarding of new members and expanding hack nights.  The Committee agreed that it would be best to start a Community Involvement Night on the same night as a hack night, on a monthly basis.  Lori and Keri also reminded the group that we can request presentations from city employees.
Rachel agreed to post strawman of programs that we may envision for Community Involvement nights.
Jill also expressed interest in seeking feedback from volunteers on the Brigade.  Loomis was mentioned as a tool that might be useful for “voting”.
Fundraising Event Rachel informed the group that a fundraising event has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 15 at the Abari Game Bar, 1721 N Davidson, 7-10pm.  Rachel will be promoting via social media.
Board Member Selection Jill asked if the Committee should consider update to By Laws that would prohibit elected officials from Board membership.  The committee agreed.  Peter agreed to draft language for Jill to share with attorney Steven Snyder.
The Committee agreed to drop the following from Board Member consideration:

  • Dan Roselli
  • Jeff Brokaw
  • Al Austin
  • George Dunlap

Voting continues.  The Committee is encouraged to complete voting on Slack as soon as possible.  Once voting is complete, Jill can synthesize the votes for consideration.
The Committee discussed having a “mixer” for top-voted potential Board Members.  We agreed to shoot for the evening of Wednesday, Nov 30.
Peter agreed to see if party room at 230 S Tryon is available.  Subsequent to meeting Peter posted following on Slack:

  • “The party room at 230 S Tryon is available for the evening of Wednesday, Nov 30.  There is a $250 fee plus expenses for a Security Guard (I am guessing about $60), plus a $500 refundable security deposit.  Parking is available in the garage next door (entrance on W 3rd St) – we can validate the parking tickets reducing fee to $3/car.   We can bring in whatever refreshments we like.   What do you think?”
Notes Next meeting – Wednesday, November 30, 12:30pm – 2:00pm, Industry Charlotte.
