Civic innovation for the Queen City

Code for Charlotte helps governments and nonprofits engage their communities and build better digital services.

What we facilitate

Since 2014, Code for Charlotte has been helping improve digital services that serve residents of the Queen City and surrounding neighborhoods. We partner with local governments and nonprofits to facilitate conversations with stakeholders in the community, provide guidance on product development, and build digital solutions with designers and technologists in the community.

Our own community group

Open Charlotte is our own effort to create a community of engaged citizens who work on projects for their community.

We help provide the tools and space for teams to collaborate on their projects and we occasionally invite speakers from local government and community groups to lead informative sessions.

As part of the Code for America national brigade network, we provide the opportunity for our volunteers to collaborate with over eighty similar teams around the country. Together, they build digital tools that visualize data, respond to crises, and improve livelihoods.
